What is included in a car service?
A car service is similar to a check-up at the doctors - but for your vehicle. When you book a car service, you can expect to have the health of your vehicle checked and tested.
At Setyres, we offer a range of servicing options:
- Full car service - this service should be carried out every 12,000 miles or every 12 months - whichever is sooner. This is the most thorough car service.
- Interim car service - this car service is a shorter service and should be carried out between full services every 6,000 miles or 6 months - again, whichever comes first.
- Oil & filter service - this car service is simply for the oil and filter in your car.

A full car service checks most components, systems and adjustments of your vehicle. You should expect an extensive range of checks if you choose a full service - these include, but are not limited to the following:
- Engine oil and filter check and change
- Lights, tyres, exhaust and brakes checked
- Hydraulic fluid and coolant levels check and change
- Steering alignment check
- Car battery check

What is checked in an interim car service?
An interim car service normally includes less checks, and these checks would usually include an oil change, oil filter replacement, as well as checks of major components such as the brakes and suspension. It is generally recommended that you have an interim car service at 6,000 miles or every 6 months - so halfway between full car services. What is checked in an oil & filter car service?
We also offer an oil and filter service, which is shorter than our other car services. When you book an oil and filter service, you can expect a mechanic to check and replace the oil and filter in your car. How often cars need their oil changed depends on their make and model. We recommend checking your vehicle handbook for more information on how often your car should have an oil and filter service.
